No. Ear Care Clinic by Chelsey is a private nursing practice and a referral is not required. You may book directly if you are experiencing symptoms related to ear wax buildup or would like an ear assessment.

Your appointment will begin with a health history review and ear assessment. Your ears will be examined using an otoscope, and if appropriate, ear wax removal will be performed using one or more treatment methods. Education and recommendations will be provided following your visit.

Most appointments take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on the amount and consistency of ear wax present with the longest being 45 for complicated removal.

Most patients experience little to no discomfort during treatment. Occasionally, some pressure, sensitivity, or mild temporary discomfort may occur depending on the condition of the ear and the amount of wax present.

No. Ear Care Clinic by Chelsey is a private, fee-for-service nursing practice and services are not covered by Saskatchewan Health.

A receipt will be provided following your appointment. Coverage for private nursing services varies between insurance providers and plans. Clients are responsible for contacting their insurance provider to determine eligibility and for submitting receipts for reimbursement. Reimbursement cannot be guaranteed.

Payment is due at the time of service. Debit, credit, and e-transfer are accepted.

Some individuals may require extended treatment time or multiple appointments to safely remove significant or deeply impacted ear wax. If additional treatment is required, this will be discussed with you during your appointment.

Every appointment includes a comprehensive ear assessment. In some cases, ear wax removal may not be recommended or performed due to clinical findings, insufficient ear wax, patient preference, or other factors identified during the assessment.
If ear wax removal is not performed, an Assessment & Consultation fee of $40 will apply. This fee covers the nursing assessment, ear examination, clinical recommendations, and any referral recommendations that may be required.

Most people do not require medical clearance before ear wax removal. However, for your safety, treatment may need to be delayed if you have certain ear conditions or symptoms.
Medical assessment or clearance may be required if you have:
-Ear surgery
-Autoimmune disease (including, but not limited to diabetes, eczema, psoriasis)
-Exotosis
-Ear cancer (including skin cancer on/in ear)
-Past or recent ear disease (including ear drum perforation)
-Ear trauma
-Radiation to head/neck
-Dizziness, vertigo, tinnitus
-On blood thinners
-Ear tubes
-Frequent ear infections
